Sculpture Information

On the sad news of his mother’s passing, Ralph Douglas-Scott-Montagu, the 4th Baron Montagu of Beaulieu asked me to produce a memorial stone to place at the grave site. Lord Montagu shared with me his mother’s horse sketches as a basis for the design of the memorial’s horses head. I worked closely with Lord Montagu to get the design he wanted. The finished memorial was cast and replicated in resin by Ben Broadbent of Apex Art Services and the letter carving on both memorials was by Mayastone.

The memorial Deborah produced for my mother’s grave was in response to a tightly defined brief which she interpreted brilliantly. My mother was an artist and often featured loved horses in her work, so I know she would have loved this piece. 4th Baron Montagu of Beaulieu
